Our Oral Surgery Solutions
Oral surgery is a treatment option for a variety of different conditions. From removing a damaged tooth to stabilizing your jaw, oral surgery can help you live freely without mouth or jaw pain.
Although we do everything we can to preserve our patients’ natural teeth, sometimes there are situations where we’re unable to save a tooth. In this case, we perform extractions to remove the affected tooth.
Tooth extractions are the process of removing damaged or decayed teeth. At our Orlando office, we use this surgery to eliminate any infections or permanent damage that could cause long-term dental pain. In many cases, we can almost immediately replace the tooth with our state-of-the-art dental implants. However, we can only perform this procedure if you have enough jawbone density.
If your jaw isn’t dense enough to support a dental implant, we can restore your jawbone with a unique procedure called bone grafting.
Bone grafting is a strengthening procedure that stimulates jaw growth using bone cells from another part of your body. We’ll place the bone on the weakened part of your jaw, and the bones will fuse and strengthen naturally.
This advanced technique is ideal for supporting dental implants, allowing you to receive the most secure tooth replacements available. Our titanium dental implants contribute to your jaw strength when they integrate with your newly restored bone.
Wisdom Teeth Removal
Wisdom teeth removal is one of the most common oral surgeries. Because wisdom teeth generally grow into our mouths between the ages of 15 to 18, removing them is often essential to maintaining naturally straight or orthodontically treated teeth. Dr. Adatia is skilled at identifying and removing impacted or crowded wisdom teeth.
This procedure has several purposes, including:
- Preventing crowded teeth – Removing your wisdom teeth before they grow in maintains your jaw’s alignment and tooth structure. You can bite comfortably and smile confidently thanks to this simple procedure.
- Removing impacted teeth – Sometimes, patients have wisdom teeth that become impacted or unable to grow into their mouths. If they grow sideways or underneath another tooth, this can cause pain or inflammation in the jaw. Dr. Adatia uses x-rays to identify this problem, so we can remove the tooth before it affects your oral health.
- Preventing costly orthodontic treatments – If your teeth are naturally straight, or you’ve already undergone orthodontic procedures, your wisdom teeth could create alignment issues. Wisdom tooth removal maintains your dazzling smile!
